We Met Our Goal! We met our goal in support of the Lenten folders but if you still have one please turn it in. We thank you for your support. To date we have received $705.25 and our goal was $700.00. This extra-mile offering supports the Operating Budget of the congregation.

Next Sunday! David & Skye Bennett members of the congregation, are participating in the RACE FOR HOPE - DC next Sunday, May 6th 2012 in memory of David's father, William Bennett who passed away from a brain tumor in 2007. If you would like to financially support David & Skye they are accepting tax-deductible donations to help raise funds to find a cure for brain cancer. The Second Annual Finksburg Day and Mount Zion Will Be There! Saturday, May 19th 10:00 am to 2:00 p.m. in the Finksburg Plaza shopping center parking lot. Plans are underway for the participation of our congregation. Peggy James has volunteered to coordinate the event. We can still use volunteers. See Peggy for more information on how you can help.

Take An Active Role With Our Children and Youth! We are asking you to prayerfully consider taking an active role in the education of our children and youth on Sunday morning. Could you volunteer one Sunday a month or a quarter? Would you be willing to lead a one day event or be a substitute teacher in the event of an illness to our regular teacher? Talk to Heather Bussard on Sunday morning or give her a call (443-375-0846). It is important that our children and youth have a guide to good Christian living.

Our Building Fund! The Building Fund received $97.00 last Sunday morning. We thank you! Please use the special Building Fund offering envelope. See Linda King for more information.

The Gift and Memorial Fund of the congregation is a good way to honor someone or remember someone. We keep a permanent record of all gifts and we send an acknowledgement letter to the person/family. For more information please see the Pastor.

Revised List! Refreshments Following Morning Worship. Beginning in April we need volunteers to provide light refreshments following morning worship. It is important that you read article in the March church newsletter concerning the responsibility you have when you sign up on the church refrigerator in the kitchen.

We Thank those of you who have been sending Easter greetings to some of our homebound and sick members and friends. Please remember that we are still in the "Great Fifty Days" of celebrating the resurrection of our Lord so you can still send greetings. See the Pastor for a list of homebound, nursing home and others who especially need a personal contact.

A Bike Ride for Hannah More School which is a school for students grade 6 to 12 (with a primary disability of autism, learning disabilities, emotional disturbance or other disabilities. Barb Hay's son Jim and others will be riding motorcycles to help raise money for this important school which needs computer equipment and supplies. Make checks out to MCR Cares and give it directly to Barb. See her for more information on this mission project.

The use of church offering envelopes means that even if you are away support for the church programs continues!

Financial Information. The Church Council approved our Operating Budget for 2012. We need $1,735.46 each week to meet our Operating Budget/current expenses. The offering last Sunday morning fell to $1,190.00. We have no other source of income except through our faithful members and friends. Our monthly asking for our United Methodist denominational support in 2012 is $919.32. According to our treasurer we have sent in $4,000.00 through April. We received $100.00 from our United Methodist Women in support of our church's involvement in the May Finksburg Day. Worship attendance last Sunday was 74.

Interested In Sponsoring A Monthly Church Newsletter? There are some openings coming up this spring/summer/fall. For more information please see the Pastor. This is a very fine way of remembering or honoring a loved one. The cost varies between $85 and $90 each month.

Looking Ahead? By action of the Church Council we have reserved pavilion #6 at the Piney Run Carroll County Park for Sunday afternoon, September 9th (Rally Day). Last year was our first year at this lovely local park and we had a good turnout. Plan now to attend. Write the date on your personal calendar. More information to come!
